Fresh Coffee Builds Real Opportunities

What is Horizon Brews & Connections?

Horizon Brews & Connections is the hands-on micro-enterprise component of the SOAR Program. Participants prepare, organize, and deliver fresh coffee orders while practicing valuable workplace and customer service skills in a structured setting. The experience combines learning with meaningful responsibilities that mirror everyday employment expectations.

Building Confidence Through Real Work

Practical work experiences help participants connect classroom learning with real-world responsibilities. Each task is designed to strengthen both job skills and personal confidence.

  • Participants practice customer service through respectful communication and professional interactions.
  • Work routines help reinforce organization, time management, and responsibility.
  • Teamwork activities encourage cooperation, problem-solving, and supporting one another.
  • Participants gain experience handling real workplace expectations in a supportive learning environment.

How Participants Learn On The Job

Every workday provides opportunities to practice skills that transfer to future employment settings.

  • Preparing coffee orders while following consistent routines and instructions.
  • Organizing supplies and maintaining clean, safe work areas.
  • Delivering orders and interacting professionally with customers and building tenants.
  • Receiving coaching and feedback to improve workplace performance and confidence.
